In good conditions the drive takes roughly two hours, though on peak winter weekends, with Christmas and February half-term traffic on the valley roads, it can run longer, so we would rather set a realistic expectation than promise a fixed time. Business travellers arriving for a short chalet stay and corporate groups landing together both use this route as the standard way in.

Crossing Into France

Geneva Airport sits in Switzerland, and the route to Courchevel crosses into France almost immediately, so the car you collect needs to be cleared for that crossing. Cross-border terms, along with insurance and mileage conditions, are confirmed as part of your booking rather than assumed, and it is worth having your documents ready before you land so nothing holds up the handover.

Send your flight number, arrival time and driving licence details when you reserve, so the handover is arranged around your actual landing rather than a generic slot. Choosing A Car For The Transfer

For a straightforward business arrival or a family heading up with luggage and ski equipment, a business-class SUV such as the Audi SQ7 or BMW X7 40d M handles the A41 and the final valley roads comfortably, and in winter it should be fitted with winter tyres or chains for the resort approach. Clients who would rather not drive after a long-haul flight can request a chauffeur for the same route. Outside the snow months, the same corridor toward Annecy also works well for GT or convertible driving if you are extending the stay into summer.
